Scoring
Share
1. Points Can Only Be Scored by the Serving Team
- The receiving team cannot score points; they can only win the serve back (a side-out).
2. Games Are Played to 11 Points
- You must win by at least 2 points (e.g., 11-9).
3. Call the Score Correctly
- The serving team announces the score as three numbers:
- Server’s Score – Receiver’s Score – Server Number
- Example: "3-2-1" means the serving team has 3 points, the receiving team has 2, and it’s the first server in the rotation.
4. Two Serves Per Team (in Doubles)
- Each team has two serves per side-out, one for each partner (except at the start of the game, where only one server serves).
5. Singles Scoring
- The same rules apply, but the server alternates sides of the court depending on whether their score is even (right side) or odd (left side).
Key Rule: Win a Rally to Keep Serving
- If the serving team loses a rally, the serve passes to their partner or the other team.
